Douglas County-based CSG Systems International, a provider of billing services to cable-television operators, said Monday that it has bought Ascade, an independent Swedish software company.

CSG said in a statement that the total cost of acquisition, excluding transaction fees, was approximately $19 million.

The purchase price was paid in cash from CSG’s existing cash resources, said the Colorado company.

CSG said the acquisition expands and strengthens its geographical presence, bringing its specialists and support resources closer to more than 300 wholesale customers.
