In what could very well be a covert mission to bust , the is hitting the road. Or, rather, hitting the high seas.

Following in , the metal fest has announced its own cruise scheduled for Dec. 7-10, 2012. Because who doesn’t want more musical festivals at sea? Unfortunately, the claims the ship is only to the Bahamas, no trip to Europe planned.

You see, Lamb of God is set as the headliner act. So, here’s hoping Blythe is back in time. Machine Head, Anthrax, Suicide Silence, Hatebreed and Kingdom of Sorrow will also be on board to perform 90-minute sets.

Sea-faring metal heads will occupy the “Carnival Imagination” ship, with access to two pools, a casino and library.

New deals went on sale Wednesday, including a military discount — $848 for an ocean-view cabin. Plus, anyone who purchases a cruise package will receive a ticket to the Mayhem Festival for life. Other tickets start at $599 (Plus a hefty $249 for taxes and government fees).

Bonus? Clown, of Slipknot fame, is putting together his own art show on the cruise.

Assuming most cruise ships travel at speeds of around 20 knots, the trip from Miami to the Venice port (as close as a ship can get to the land-locked Czech Republic) totals 11 days and 10 hours, plus an extra eight hours of driving time. Extend it two weeks, and the Mayhem Festival cruise could very well reach Blythe.

I’m just waiting for the day a full orchestra cruise is announced. New York Symphony, anyone? –Kelsey Fowler
