DENVER—Colorado’s unemployment rate edged up slightly to 8.2 percent in June with manufacturing, construction, education and health services among the major sectors losing jobs.

The rate increased from May’s 8.1 percent.

The state Labor and Employment Department says Colorado nonfarm payroll jobs decreased by 6,900 from May to June for a total of just under 2.3 million jobs. The private sector lost 5,200 jobs and while the government lost 1,700.

The national jobless rate is 8.2 percent.
