DENVER—Amtrak train service is being restored after a track washed out in the Colorado mountains.

The washout near Glenwood Springs on Tuesday caused one train in each direction to be rerouted through Wyoming. An Amtrak spokesman says regular service would resume Thursday.

The California Zephyr passenger train runs daily between the San Francisco area and Chicago.
