A chance of thunderstorms Thursday in the Denver metro area will lead into a dry weekend.

There’s a 30 percent chance of scattered showers Thursday afternoon over the entire urban corridor, according to Kyle Fredin , meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.

“Some thunderstorms may contain some heavy rain,” Fredin said, noting that a system is currently over Jefferson County. “It doesn’t look like a flooding situation.”

Tonight, the likelihood of precipitation decreases to 10 percent until 9 p.m. with a low around 63 degrees.

“And then we start to dry out for tomorrow,” Fredin said. “It looks like we’re going to have another hot day.”

Coloradans can expect highs in the mid 90s Friday, with a cool front moving in late that night.

On Saturday, meteorologists predict temperatures to reach the mid 80s. Fredin said the weather will warm back up to seasonal norms Sunday with temperatures in the low 90s accompanied by mostly sunny and clear skies.

“There’s dry conditions pretty much into Monday,” Fredin said.
