Dance: Lindy festival swings into town with music, dancing
Through Sunday. The Denver nonprofit Community-Minded Dance is holding its 8th annual Lindy on the Rocks festival this weekend, and it aims to test even the most diehard Lindy hoppers. In addition to dance lessons for all levels at the Newman Center and Denver Turnverein Ballroom, the event offers live music from the All Star Swing Band (including swing, tango and jazz) and others, and even a late-night pool party on the Auraria campus. The tentpole is Saturday’s swanky Swing in the City benefit at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House Studio Loft, which includes a show, silent auction, food by Kevin Taylor, and — of course — more dancing.
