COLORADO SPRINGS — A 36-year-old Colorado Springs man died Monday after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on Goldfield Road, about a quarter mile north of Fontaine Boulevard, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The victim is identified as Michael Studebaker, according to the state patrol.

Studebaker was traveling southbound on Goldfield Road on a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he crested a small hill and failed to negotiate a curve to the right, said the state patrol. Studebaker entered the northbound lane of Goldfield Road into the path of a northbound 1999 Chevrolet Malibu.
