The tablet wars heated up last week after Samsung released the Galaxy Note 10.1 in the United States. The tablet has garnered mostly favorable marks from early reviewers, with two features standing out: the S Pen stylus, which offers the closest digital experience to real-world note-taking and sketching, and a split-screen mode that allows users to access two applications at the same time. Also, technology blog Engadget said Microsoft may sell its new Surface tablet for $199, or $300 less than the lowest-priced third-generation iPad and the Galaxy Note 10.1. If that price point holds up, the Surface could be a huge hit. — Andy Vuong, The Denver Post
