Accompanied by loud dance music and breakdancing employees, Colorado’s second H&M store opened with fanfare Thursday at FlatIron Crossing mall.
More than 200 people lined up to be among the first in the store on its opening day.
Sweden-based H&M serves the “fast-fashion” category of selling contemporary clothing priced affordably for a mainstream market. The chain created a flurry of activity when it opened its first store in the state at the Denver Pavilions.
The first ones in line were Gloria and Michelle Herrera, a mom and daughter from Denver. They arrived at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. They slept on the mall’s lawn.
“We planned it out for the last couple days,” said daughter Michelle, who recently had twins and wants new clothes for the whole family.
