The second flight within a week to be diverted to Denver because of an unruly passenger landed at Denver International Airport today, authorities say.

United Airlines flight 734 from San Francisco to Chicago landed safely at DIA at about 10:15 a.m., said Jenny Schiavone, DIA spokeswoman.

Schiavone said she is unaware what kind of disturbance was caused.

The plane departed DIA bound for Chicago at about 11:15 a.m., she said.

Late last Sunday, a JetBlue flight from New York to Los Angeles, was diverted after a Chicago man allegedly groped a 27-year-old pregnant woman and intimidated a flight attendant.

Marcus Covington, 32, also allegedly made bizarre statements to fellow passengers and spit at and threatened to kill police officers after being taken off the plane. He appeared to be drunk.

The plane had 150 passengers at the time.

A federal judge in Denver Friday set an Oct. 15 trial date for Covington on charges of interference with a flight attendant and abusive sexual contact on an aircraft.
