Police arrested a man in a shooting Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Park Avenue West and Lawrence Street, authorities say.
The victim was shot in the stomach, said John White, Denver police spokesman. He said he does not know whether the injury is life threatening. The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a man in his 40s. Police are trying to confirm his identity.
Police also are searching for a woman they believe saw the shooting. She was described as being black or Hispanic, 5-feet-10, thin, with curly hair, White said. She was wearing a blue tank top and khaki pants, he said.
Police were called about a shooting at 1:45 p.m., White said.
When officers arrived they found a victim and spotted the alleged shooter. The case is under investigation.
