Getting your player ready...

Colorado at Fresno State, 6 p.m., Saturday, CBS-SN

For the record: Fresno State dropped to 1-1 with a 42-25 loss Saturday at powerhouse Oregon. The Bulldogs fell behind 35-3 but pulled within 35-19 with 9:40 to play.

Streaking: Fresno State, which opened the season with a home win over Weber State, has not committed a turnover through two games.

Who’s hot: Junior QB Derek Carr. The younger brother of former Bulldog and NFL top draft pick David Carr, the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder went 29-for-47 for 234 yards and a touchdown against Oregon and surpassed 4,000 yards passing for his career.

Who’s not: Fresno State’s defense struggled against Oregon’s warp-speed spread, yielding 201 yards and three touchdowns to Ducks tailback Kenjon Barner on 34 carries.

Key stat: The Bulldogs scored on all five trips to the red zone but settled for field goals on three of them.

FYI: First-year Fresno State coach Tim DeRuyter is an Air Force Academy graduate and spent three seasons (2007-09) as the Falcons’ defensive coordinator and safeties coach.

Injury report: Starting OLB Donavon Lewis went out in the first quarter against Oregon with an unspecified injury and didn’t return.

Coachspeak: “I’m disappointed how we played in the first half. I’m encouraged how we played in the second half.” — DeRuyter
