A 56-year-old Nunn man died Sunday evening after his motorcycle hit a telephone pole, the second deadly motorcycle crash over the weekend in the area and the third fatal motorcycle crash this month.
Tim Schwartz, a spokesman for the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, said the man was riding northbound on U.S. 85 when he took the O Street exit near 8th Avenue, ran through a stop sign, clipped a guard rail and hit a telephone pole in a ditch. He was not wearing a helmet.
Schwartz said the man was riding alongside another motorcyclist. Other riders were at the scene after the crash and said he was on his way home when the crash happened.
