A 47 year-old motorcyclist and his passenger were injured when a truck made a left turn in front of them in Fort Collins on Saturday night, Fort Collins police said.
Shannon Devore, who was driving the 2007 Harley Davidson, was seriously hurt, and Kristin Devore, 47, suffered moderate injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet.
Devore was driving north on College Avenue in the center lane and as the bike approached an intersection with Swallow Road a southbound 2011 GMC truck driven by Monica Rodriguez, 39, turned left in front of him. The motorcycle skidded several feet before hitting the ground and colliding with the passenger side of the truck.
Neither Rodriguez nor her passenger were hurt in the accident at about 10:13 p.m.
Police don’t believe speed contributed to the collision, but think Rodriguez may have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
Charges are pending, and police are investigating both the collision and traffic light sequencing at the intersection.
Northbound lanes of College Avenue were closed from Foothills Parkway to Drake Road for approximately 4 ½ hours while police processed the scene.
