DENVER—Denver International Airport says passenger traffic has held roughly steady for the first half of the year, with virtually no change from the first half of 2011.
The airport said Monday that 25.6 million passengers traveled through the airport through the first six months of the year, or about 7,000 fewer travelers than in the same period last year. About 4.8 million passengers used the airport in June, which is 0.9 percent lower than June 2011.
Denver aviation manager Kim Day says she is cautiously optimistic that the airport can still top the record set last year for passenger traffic.
The number of flight operations in June was down 3.4 percent from the same month a year ago, while the amount of cargo handled was down 7.8 percent.
