FOUNTAIN, Colo.—Police say a transmission shop owner in Fountain who regularly let employees take customers’ vehicles home faces charges after one vehicle was damaged in a crash.

Police say Springs Transmissions and Automotive owner Greg Ehnes (EE’-ness) faces charges of false reporting and conspiracy.

Investigators say his employee Donald McKnight reported a vehicle stolen in July. Officers later found the vehicle with damage from a crash. Investigators say they believe McKnight and his co-worker Jason White were in the vehicle when it crashed and that they left the scene with White’s girlfriend, Cassie Bernard.

Investigators allege Ehnes conspired to falsely report a robbery and vehicle theft. McKnight, White and Bernard also face charges.

Ehnes previously told KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs ( ) he doesn’t take advantage of people or rip them off.
