A man allegedly involved in a has been identified by police.

Leno Torres-Baca, 20, described by police as the “primary resident” of a duplex where a standoff happened Sunday morning, was arrested for outstanding warrants and failure to vacate, according to a Wheat Ridge Police Department media release.

Five other men were also taken into custody Sunday. They have not been identified.

The incident started at about 3:00 a.m. in the 7300 block of West 48th Avenue when police received reports of shots fired in the area.

Police said there was a large party at the duplex, including numerous juveniles attending. Some people at the home left as police arrived, but the “primary resident” and others “refused to vacate the premises when ordered by police.”

After the remaining people inside refused to come out West Metro SWAT was called to the scene at 4:30 a.m., police said.

Emergency telephone notification was sent to surrounding homes and residents were told to stay inside as a safety precaution.

Police attempted to communicate with the men inside throughout the morning. At about 8:50 a.m. one man came out and by 9:30 a.m. Sunday all six were in custody without further incident.
