GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—One person is dead following an early morning fire at an assisted living facility in Grand Junction.
Fire department spokesman Mike Page said Wednesday a body was found in one of the rooms and the cause of death is under investigation. Grand Junction police are also investigating but spokeswoman Kate Porras says investigators have found nothing suspicious.
The fire was reported after midnight at Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley assisted living, which has several dozen residents.
Porras says a nurse found a small fire in a room and extinguished it.
No evacuations were necessary.
