There was a time when the only thing was concerned about bringing back was the abstract concept of “sexy.” But now, the singer is digging up the grave of social networks of yesteryear, attempting to revive the once all-mighty Myspace. (Remember M.I.A.’s Myspace? It was the most Myspace thing on Myspace.)

In 2011, Timberlake was revealed as a Myspace investor, and as he told , he took some time to brainstorm how to rebrand and revamp the website.

A two-minute teaser video, , follows the profile of “David Croft” as he navigates Myspace 2.0. The interface looks like Facebook had a one night stand with Instagram, but slept with Pintrest, Twitter and Windows too, so no one really knows who the baby belongs to. The video shows new sideways scrolling, photos, design and “Mixes,” a series of playlists organized under different headings.

Many musicians stuck with Myspace long after the ZOMG-ers left for Facebook, and the amount of music integration in the new design certainly reflects that. The video also shows how users can grab a song they find on another person’s page and drop it into one of their mixes. (Plus check on, say, Timberlake’s page to see how his music tastes match up with theirs. Because that’s something we all want to know.)

Tim Vanderhook, another Myspace owner, told the   the new Myspace is “a social network for the creative community to connect to their fans.” He said the goal for the initial roll-out is to target bigger names and later focus on undiscovered talent and music fans.

Fans can also be profiled on their favorite artists’ pages. Love Timberlake? You could soon be in his “Top Fans” section. Cue audible shriek.
