LONGMONT, Colo.—Longmont officials are disappointed with the meager savings from its solar panels.
The city paid about $410,000 for the solar arrays, which are used to help heat pool water. The city also got federal funds to help pay for the system.
According to the Longmont Times-Call ( ), the city hoped to save $32,000 from the solar panels in the first year, but the actual savings were half that amount.
