Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a body found in a southern Jefferson County park.

The body of a man was found about 7 a.m. Monday in Mossbrucker Park, 12756 W. Cross Ave., said Jacki Kelley, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

There was no indication of foul play and investigators do not believe the incident poses a threat to the public at large, Kelley said.

The area, which is just east of nearby Mount Carbon Elementary School, has been cordoned off.
