Lavigne recently sang the band’s first hit for an upcoming movie, the anime film “One Piece Film Z.” It’s the 12th installment in a long line of the best-selling “One Piece” series. According to , Lavigne also covered Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” for the film.
The irony of the situation, besides the fact that would ever want to feature a Nickelback song in an anime film, is that Kroeger wrote the 2001 single about his woes with an ex-girlfriend.
The couple plans to release its album together sometime in early 2013.
