A woman was fatally stabbed inside her southeast Denver home Wednesday evening and police have arrested a suspect in her death.
Officers were called about 6:15 p.m. to an apartment at 7005 E. Leetsdale Drive on a report of stabbing, according to a Denver Police Department media release.
Police arrived and found an unconscious woman with stab wounds, the release said.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Mike Burnett, 55, was arrested near the scene, police said.
Police did not give a motive in the incident or release information on the relationship, if any, between the victim and the suspect.
An investigation into the homicide is ongoing.
