DENVER—Federal drug agents are warning people of an Internet drug scam targeting people who buy their drugs online.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said Thursday people are panicking and wiring money overseas.

According to the Denver Post ( ), scammers are telling people that purchasing drugs over the Internet or by telephone is illegal and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay up.

According to the federal Food and Drug Administration, people who buy their drugs online should have a prescription and make sure the seller has a certified pharmacist.
