COLORADO SPRINGS — A robber wielding a hammer and a knife held up a convenience store on Palmer Park Boulevard early Sunday.
Colorado Springs police were called to the Diamond Shamrock store at 5670 Palmer Park just after 1 a.m. A clerk told officers the armed man had come into the s tore and demanded money and cash before running off with the loot.
“This suspect is described as a 6-foot white male, early 20s, and was wearing dark clothing, a ski mask, black shoes, and gloves,” police said in a news release.
Officers flooded the area and a police dog helped in a search, but the suspect was not found. Police said he may have fled to a nearby apartment complex.
The robber could be a repeat offender – police say the same store was robbed in a similar fashion last week.
