AURORA, Colo.—An employee at the University of Colorado’s dental school in Aurora is facing charges and no longer works at CU after her gun accidentally fired on campus.

A campus police report says financial business manager Mary Beth Loeb had a valid concealed weapon permit and was showing her gun to co-workers Nov. 9 after taking it apart. The gun went off after she had trouble reassembling it.

The police report says the accidental discharge left her with a cut finger, and a co-worker had cuts on her leg from bullet fragments. The report says Loeb was issued a summons for one count each of prohibited use of weapons and unlawful conduct on public property for an allegedly negligent discharge.

CU officials say Loeb is no longer a CU employee.
