The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said inmate Levi Martinez, 48, died of natural causes in the county jail Sunday night.
Deputies were alerted to a medical emergency with Martinez at 7:50 p.m. Staff began medical aid, before he was taken to a hospital, where he died, the agency said.
The coroner’s office determined Monday that Martinez died from “natural causes.”
Court records show Martinez had a lengthy criminal records, including arrests on burglary, theft and escape charges.
