Gasoline prices in Colorado continued to fall last week, although the average cost of a gallon nationally remained the same, according to the website
The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Colorado on Sunday was $3.38, having fallen 0.7 cents in the previous seven days.
That compared to the national average of $3.43 a gallon.
In Colorado, gas prices were 3.8 cents a gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 17.5 cents a gallon lower than a month ago.
The national average has decreased 14.1 cents a gallon in the last month and is 11.0 cents a gallon higher than the same day a year ago.
“While Thanksgiving 2012 is now behind us, the stigma of record high gasoline prices is not,” said senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan.
“Thanksgiving Day 2012 featured the highest ever daily average for the holiday, beating out 2011 by over 10-cents per gallon,” said DeHaan.
DeHaan said the national average for the price of a gallon of gas may moderate slightly by Christmas, but he is not expecting significant decreases or increases.
“Overall, there will likely not be much change between today and Christmas,” said DeHaan.
