PALMER LAKE, Colo.—Palmer Lake residents will be relying on part-time police officers after Police Chief Keith Moreland leaves office next month due to budget cuts.
The town of about 2,400 people north of Colorado Springs expects to save about $50,000 a year.
The police force now has only 9 part-time employees because tax revenues are down.
According to KOAA-TV ( ), there are no immediate plans to fill the vacancy.
