Getting your player ready...
If you’re somebody whose older home has already sold, you know that Denver area builders have very few homes that are set to deliver anytime soon. But this afternoon Ryland Homes can show you two along the route out to DIA that are in a neighborhood that already has a 5-acre park and pool, and that’s likely to be a coveted location as the airport’s broader master plan takes shape.
Ryland’s High Point, with two model homes including a roomy ranch to see east of Tower Road on E. 64th, is only 1.5 mile from a site DIA has selected for what’s being called Aviation Station – intermediary stop on RTD’s East Rail Line that will begin racing passengers from DIA to downtown’s Union Station in 2016. For Ryland owners, the station will mean a hassle-free commute into DIA and its expanded terminal; or heading the other way into sports attractions and nightlife in LoDo. Aviation Station and other possible station sites that might be added in the future are bringing lots of attention to the Gateway part of the airport plan along Tower Road – already with hotels and restaurants within three minutes of Ryland’s models; and a K-8 charter school closer than that. You can view High Point’s own pool and cabana and Grove Park; but don’t expect to see airplanes during your visit: DIA’s terminal is five miles off; and the very nearest runway approach is now around two miles distant. You can also see something that’s become a rarity after 2012’s rapid sales – a family-sized Wisdom from Ryland’s trend setting Inspirations series that’s ready to move in — three bedrooms and 2½ baths, around 2,557 square feet. It’s landscaped front-and-back, has a big covered patio looking into a sizable fenced backyard, and is pre-loaded with nice features: wide expanses of hardwood floor on the main; a luxurious master with five-piece bath; big center-island kitchen with designer-tile backsplash; and upstairs laundry. You could take the keys to the front door well before Santa’s sleigh shows up as a blip on DIA’s radar, Dec. 24. You can also tour the model of Ryland’s Bliss ranch plan, 1,826 square feet with a huge kitchen island with bar seating (it’s priced from only $243,000). If you like its looks, Ryland’s Wayne Hopkins will show you a spec-version of the same home – plus another 1,064 square feet finished on the basement level, that will be ready right after New Years. From I-70 take Peña Blvd (DIA Freeway) north to E. 56th Avenue, head east to Tower, then left (north) a mile to E. 64th, and east past High Point’s information center, to Ryland’s models.
