FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Police say a man faces a charge of vehicular homicide after a crash that killed a pedestrian in Fort Collins.
Investigators say 80-year-old Marie Hayes was driving home late Sept. 12 when her car ran out of gas. After leaving her car to seek help, she was struck by an SUV and then by two more cars.
Police say Monty Dumler of Greeley was driving the SUV and allegedly was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Dumler turned himself in to the Larimer County jail Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer who could comment on his behalf.
