No, it’s not a signal for 12/12/12, it’s simply a siren test.
Throughout Wednesday, the first monthly test of the 56 new sirens and 21 upgraded sirens in Denver will be tested.
With new siren locations to provide better coverage, people who have not previously noticed the tests may hear them, according to a news release from the city.
The test of all city sirens will be conducted at 11 a.m. and will last approximately 3 to 5 minutes, the release states.
Additionally, individual sirens will be tested throughout the day, which will feature a brief sounding of the siren that fades away, according to the release.
