Metro area police are asking the public’s help in identifying a busy bank robber.
Investigators suspect the “Clearinghouse Bandit” of robbing at least 13 banks in Denver and Aurora, according to a Denver Police Department media release.
“In most of the of the robberies the suspect passed a note or threatened that he had a weapon,” police said.
Investigators dubbed the robber the Clearinghouse Bandit because he enters the banks carrying a magazine, or newspaper, with the robbery note tucked inside.
The robber is described as a black man, about 6-feet 4-inches and about 250 pounds.
Police said the robber has an accomplice who has been spotted at several of the robberies.
