Denver-based, live performance hip-hop band, , will culminate the year’s hard work with a headlining performance at the  on Thursday night. F.L., C-1, ChampSoundKillaBlack and partnered with this summer to release a song a week for a project dubbed the “Summer Series.”

With a little help from super producer 9th Wonder’s opening deejay set, the band will take the stage with new drummer Rob Turner to perform tracks from the outfitap catalogue. Mic Coats, one of the group’s performers, said this show will showcase the band’s growth musically and personally.

“We’ve worked really hard to get to the point where we can stand alone. We’ve been the favorite opening act for the past few years but we’ve worked hard to step out on our own. This will be a test to see if the city’s going to show up for us,” Coats said. “We’ve been putting in a lot of work to represent the city well so we’re anxious to see if it will pay off.”

The “Summer Series” allowed The Foodchain to explore new and more progressive styles of hip-hop. Mic Coats said itap been a personal journey.

“This show is a stepping stone in the journey. The music is truly amazing and for me, I look at it from a personal point of view. It affects my personal life, and the lives of all of us in the group,” Coats said.

Other supporting acts include SP Double, Myke Charles, DJ Chonz and Spoke In Wordz. Doors open at 8:30p.m., showtime is 9p.m. This show is 16 and older. Purchase tickets here.
