Granny’s still got it
And has been heating up the stage all month as its 21st annual “Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum” cultural show featuring music, dance and spoken word. Solabrate good times, come on
The 27th annual “Winter Solabration,” is 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Activities include singing, wassail, storytelling, a mummer’s play and dancing along with performances by the Solstice Sword Dancers, Bryan Connolly Extreme Juggling, the Maroon Bells Morris Dancers and others. Abbot’s Bromley Horn Dance is at midnight. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert or snack to share. A brass act
Hundreds of tuba and baritone players perform a variety of holiday tunes at the 38th Students from more than 30 high schools and local musicians add their talents to the family tradition. Jeanie Schroder from DeVotchKa will serve as guest conductor along with Bill Clark, professor of music at the University of Colorado at Denver, who has served as conductor since the first Tuba Christmas concert in Denver in 1976. Lost in space
The “Colorado Takes Off!” exhibit is coming in for a landing Dec. 29, so you better hurry to the Greeley History Museum and check out the collection drawn from more than 100 years of Colorado aerospace history. Scale models of early planes, pilot uniforms and dinnerware from a first-class Continental Airline flight in the 1960s are included.
