MONTROSE, Colo.—Montrose police have arrested three men accused of conspiring to break into a home, steal money, kill the owner and steal a car to leave town.

The Daily Sentinel reports () Salvadore Cortez-Herrera and Cody Bishop of Montrose and Jorge Ramirez of Olathe (oh-LAY’-thuh) are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, robbery and motor vehicle theft. Bond was set at $250,000 each. It wasn’t known if they have lawyers who could comment on their behalf.

Police Cmdr. Gene Lillard said Thursday that police had received an anonymous tip about the alleged plot. Two of the suspects already were in custody on unrelated charges at the time. Other details haven’t been released.

Lillard says police felt the tip was credible. No other arrests are expected.
