Two firefighters and two residents were injured in an Aurora house fire Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out at about 12:48 p.m. at 16562 E. Asbury Place, said Capt. Allen Robnett, an Aurora Fire Department spokesman.
When firefighters arrived at the single-family home, heavy smoke and flames were visible, Robnett said.
One victim, a woman, was immediately treated at the scene and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Further details on her injuries were not available.
A second victim, also a woman, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that Robnett called minor.
Firefighters took an offensive stance in fighting the blaze and two firefighters were injured, Robnett said.
The firefighters were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, Robnett said.
The home, near Horseshoe Park, is a total loss, Robnett said, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
