GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The federal Bureau of Land Management is offering its alternatives for managing travel, energy development and wildlife protection in the Grand Junction region.
The federal agency Monday released a draft resource management plan that will be followed by public hearings.
Alternatives include a conservation-oriented approach and emphasizing use of resources such as ?recreation, livestock grazing, and mineral leasing and development.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), the preferred alternative is to try to balance resources among competing human interests, land uses, and the conservation of natural and cultural resources. It would also protect key habitats for plant, wildlife and fish.
