DENVER—Colorado officials are promising to add a telephone hotline and provide more training following the deaths of 175 children under state supervision over the past six years.

Department of Human Services director Reggie Bicha said Tuesday state agencies must do a better job of training caseworkers.

According to the Denver Post ( ), proposed reforms include better training for workers who screen abuse calls and a study of caseworker workloads.
