NIWOT, Colo.—Boulder County sheriff’s investigators have arrested a 17-year-old Niwot High School student over a note that made a reference to a bomb and listed students’ names.
The youth arrested Tuesday is facing charges of false reporting of explosives and interfering with an educational institution. His name wasn’t released.
The Times-Call reports ( ) the teen appeared in juvenile court Wednesday. A Boulder County judge set his bond at $5,000. Through a Spanish interpreter, his mother told the judge her son didn’t do it.
The note was found days after a bomb threat was found scrawled on a bathroom stall last week. Classes were cancelled Friday while authorities investigated. No explosives were found. It’s not known who wrote the message on the bathroom stall.
