Perhaps this isn’t all too surprising: Cherry Creek is the preseason No. 1 team in girls lacrosse.
The Bruins — who have been to all 15 championship games in the sanctioned history of the sport, and won six of the past eight championships — received seven of the nine first-place votes in the Denver Post coaches poll to head the ranking.
Kent Denver is second, narrowly ahead of defending champion Air Academy. Regis Jesuit is fifth, while Centaurus rounds out the top five.
Arapahoe is sixth, and is followed by ThunderRidge, Mullen, Liberty and Chaparral.
