DENVER—Dozens of flights have been canceled at Denver International Airport, as northeast Colorado braces for a blizzard.
The airport said Friday that more than 200 flights have been canceled due to the weekend weather. The airport has about 1,700 flights daily.
Elsewhere, the National Weather Service says higher elevations in southwest Colorado could get 10 to 20 inches of snow by Sunday.
Aspen, Telluride and Vail could get 8 to 16 inches. Eight to 14 inches is forecast for the Denver area.
Blizzard warnings have been issued for areas north of Colorado Springs, with gusts up to 60 mph possible. The National Weather Service apologized that thousands of people got alerts on their mobile devices before dawn Friday of the blizzard warning, though the warning didn’t take effect until Saturday.
