LOVELAND, Colo.—A Loveland Fire Rescue Authority official has been placed on administrative leave after he was accused of responding to a fire under the influence of alcohol.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald ( ), Fire Marshal Merlin Green was charged Sunday with driving while ability impaired.

Loveland police say Green responded to a fire that broke out at Fatso’s Restaurant in his department vehicle. Loveland police officers say Green failed roadside sobriety tests.

Officials say Green was there to investigate and was not fighting the fire.

Green could not be reached for comment.
