DENVER—The family of slain Colorado Department of Corrections director Tom Clements says they’re thankful for the overwhelming support they have received.
The family issued a written statement Wednesday through the governor’s office saying: “Our family has lost a devoted husband and a beloved father. There are no words at this time to describe our grief and loss. We thank our friends and those praying for us here and across the nation. Your well-wishes and prayers bring us strength.”
The family had asked for privacy after Clements was shot at the front door of his home in Monument around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say they aren’t ruling anything out as they look for his killer and a possible motive.
