The expansion Denver Cutthroats will begin play in the Central Hockey League playoffs Thursday, when they face the No. 1-seeded Allen Americans in Allen, Texas, in a first-round matchup.
The best-of-seven series will continue Friday night in Allen before moving to the Denver Coliseum for Game 3 on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
“Obviously, this will be a strong test for our team. Allen had a great season and is a very good team,” Cutthroats coach Derek Armstrong said. “But going into the playoffs, both teams are 0-0 right. We look forward to this challenge.”
Denver enters the playoffs behind forward A.J. Gale, who led the league in goals with 46.
