A Denver police officer who was under investigation for allegations that he had sex in a patrol car while on duty has resigned, officials confirmed Wednesday.
Jairon Katz, who was on the force for eight years, skirted potential discipline when he resigned effective April 5, said Lt. Matt Murray, a spokesman for the department.
Katz had patrolled .
He was placed on desk duty last month after internal affairs investigators began probing allegations of misconduct that sources have said involved on-duty sexual activity in a squad car.
