Tim and Janet O’Brien had been looking at new homes in Parker and the southeast area for years, not sure when to pull the switch, when a game-changer happened: somebody walked up to their door and asked if they would sell their older home.
“Everything feels different about this market,” says Tim O’Brien, who was in KB Home’s models at Heathstead at Canterberry Crossing last week, across from Black Bear Golf Club, making arrangements on their new Maidstone plan that’ll be ready in July.
KB Home rep Marcia Haek, who will have a Mother’s Day potted flower for shoppers if you come see those same models today, notes that everything about this enclave beside the golf course feels good. It’s quiet (one street in and out), there are views and maintenance is provided – not just landscape maintenance, but snow and trash removal, painting, roof repair and roof replacement, giving the neighborhood an immaculate feel.
“We just fell for this community; it really appealed to us,” adds Janet O’Brien, who noted that she and Tim aren’t golfers – but like the golf ambience of Heathstead anyway.
That works for KB Home’s ranch buyers like the O’Briens, but also for families with kids who are taking advantage of the great access Heathstead at Canterberry Crossing has to two of Douglas County’s most popular schools: Cimarron Middle (a short walk from the enclave) and Legend High. For that particular buyer, KB Home has a rare opportunity for a home that can deliver right away – 11974 S. Allerton Circle, priced at $440,000, a five-bedroom, 3½-bath plan with 2,794 square feet of finished space. You can tour it today and see the amenities that go well beyond golf – parks, trails, tennis courts and a pool.
You can also see remaining sites where you can take full advantage of KB Home’s Energy Star performance and Built-to-Order program, offering very flexible options for doing things your own way. However, if you want to move now, particularly a ranch, you need to visit now: “With the most recent sales, we’re now down to just 13 total home opportunities here,” says Matt Mandino, president of KB Home’s Colorado Division. “There are still choice lots available.”
The potted flowers are available today. Heathstead at Canterberry Crossing is a little harder to find. From Parker Road 3 miles south of old-town Parker, take Hess Road east 1.4 mile to Canterberry Parkway, turn left beside the new high school and continue north, past the middle school, to Allerton Lane.
