How fast are families buying new, affordably priced homes at Reunion, the master-planned community west of DIA? So fast that Reunion’s homebuilders are having a hard time finishing their model homes before buyers are lining up for new Reunion home sites.

“People love what they get for their money here,” says Shea Homes’ Tyler Gatlin, who will give you a drawing ticket that could win a $150 gift certificate to Reunion’s new King Soopers, just for visiting Shea’s SPACES collection, or Lennar Homes’ or Richmond American Homes’ sales centers at Reunion.

“This is a market where it’s an advantage to have new homes that will still be available when you arrive,” Gatlin adds. “Buyers tell us that they search for homes on the MLS, and they’re already gone the next day.” At Reunion, those same buyers find homes by three participating builders – all with new sites close to the community’s landmark 52-acre park with huge lake and pool/rec center and water-slide – real opportunities that can deliver this year.

What they CAN’T be sure of is that the prices you’ll find at Reunion today will still be around if you wait a month from now. “Every time we do a lot release, there’s a price increase,” says Richmond American’s Courtney Vlaun, who has already taken five sales contracts at Reunion, well before the builder’s model homes (they can go to six bedrooms) are completed.

That works fine for people who are buying now, such as Kami and Terry Van Valkenburg, who purchased from Shea earlier this year, moving up from Florida. “We did two months’ worth of shopping, a lot of it via the internet,” says Terry. The search of resale homes, he adds, “didn’t go real well; so many areas didn’t look all that impressive. But when we got to Reunion, that was our last stop.”

“It was fantastic,” Van Valkenburg adds, noting that he has 20 years’ experience as a designer working with builders. The couple uses the same adjective to describe their new King Soopers on 104th and Chambers in Reunion Marketplace. “We’re overly impressed by the quality and the prices.”
You can actually get three chances to win the King Soopers gift certificate by visiting all three builders – an incentive to get you informed about future lot releases – VERY important to finding a home here. Lennar already has 12 home sales, even though its models aren’t complete; and Shea has already taken seven waiting-list reservations against its next seven site releases. To visit, exit DIA/Peña Blvd at Tower, head north to 104th; then west to Reunion Parkway, and follow the signs to builders’ information centers.
