GLENWOOD SPRINGS — The driver of a car who died in a head-on collision with a semi truck on Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon last week has been positively identified as Sherrie Hart, 53, of Aurora, according to Garfield County Deputy Coroner Steven Pollard.
Hart died as a result of multiple injuries sustained in the crash, and not the resulting fire that consumed the Mazda sedan she and three passengers were riding in, Pollard said.
Hart’s husband, Ronald Hart, 53, her daughter, Lisa Hart, 25, both of Aurora, and Lisa Hart’s 4-year-old son, Zayden Pecosky of Westminster.
According to the State Patrol, Sherrie Hart was driving east in a two-way-traffic construction zone 11 miles east of Glenwood Springs around 4:30 a.m. May 22 when she veered into the westbound lane just as a semi-trailer truck driven by Daniel Robertson, 54, of Las Vegas, Nev., emerged from the Reverse Curve tunnel.
