CANON CITY, Colo.—Two men including a Cañon City councilman have been arrested after a report of an altercation with an elderly couple.
The Canon City Daily Record reports ( ) Councilman Michael “Colby” Katchmar and Thomas Blake Lockhart were arrested Thursday on suspicion of first-degree assault and crimes against at-risk adults.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 70-year-old Robert Martin and his wife, Margene Martin, alleged Katchmar called the couple foul names and attempted to block them from leaving a business.
Katchmar and Lockhart told officers that the couple attacked Katchmar, and Lockhart said he stepped in to help Katchmar.
The affidavit says Margene Martin sustained a hip fracture and a welt under her eye.
Katchmar didn’t immediately return an email seeking comment Friday. A phone number listed for Lockhart rang unanswered.
